HIGH PERFORMANCE TUNNEL HULL INFLATABLES
|
TUNNEL HULL INFLATABLES ORIGINATED IN SOUTH AFRICA WHERE THESE CATAMARAN DESIGN CRAFT ARE WIDELY USED IN SURF RESCUE AND COMPETITION RACING. AS RESULT OF YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT UNDER STRINGENT RACE CONDITIONS, THE XTM IS AMONG THE TOP OF IT'S CLASS FOR STRENGTH, DURABILITY AND HANDLING. IN RECENT YEARS, THE POPULARITY OF TUNNEL HULL INFLATABLES HAVE SPREAD TO OTHER REGIONS WORLDWIDE INCLUDING EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, AND NORTH AMERICA.

The XTM tunnel-hull design creates a mixture of aero and
hydrodynamic forces which causes an almost flying effect
at full speeds. The tunnel hull helps to stabilize the boat
when running in rough water, and to maintain a level angle of
attack even when it is airborne. The XTM enters and exits
the water on a level plane and when returning to the
water, the tunnel hull compresses the air underneath,
thereby, softening the landing. The hull is based upon
exact planing surfaces to minimize wetted
areas and further reduce water resistance by causing air
bubbles and turbulence, and
The XTM is built from years of racing experience in South Africa. The
design is based upon exact planing surfaces to minimize wetted areas
and further reduce resistance by causing turbulence, which produces
air bubbles, providing a faster surface for the XTM to run on.
Built into the planing surface is a spray rail, which deflects water
downward to enhance lift, speed and fuel economy. The complete
planing surface has proven angles to enhance stability in both tracking
and turning.
